Investigation of mini LED technology

  • 摘要: 相较于传统显示技术,次毫米发光二极管(mini LED)具有亮度高、响应快、高对比度、色彩丰富、寿命长等优势,最重要的是,由于采用μm级的LED芯片作为背光源,mini LED显示画面的背光更均匀,并且可以进行极其精细的背光区域控制,对于显示市场的发展具有重大意义。综述了mini LED显示技术的发展历史,总结了目前mini LED在背光和直显两种技术上的商业研究技术进展,以期为mini LED的发展应用提供参考和思路。

     

    Abstract: Compared with the traditional display technology, mini light-emitting diode (mini LED) has the advantages of high brightness, fast response, high contrast, rich color and long service life. Most importantly, because the micron level LED chip is used as the backlight, the backlight of mini LED display screen is more uniform, and can carry out extremely fine backlight area control, which is of great significance for the development of the display market. The development history of mini LED display technology was reviewed and the current commercial research progress of mini LED in backlight and direct display technology was summarized, in order to provide reference and implications for the development and application of mini LED.
