Abstract:
Based on peridynamics theory, a numerical model of a two-dimensional isotropic rectangular plate was established to simulate the crack propagation of plate structures containing different types of cracks under rapid loading boundary conditions. The failure and destruction modes of the plates under different pre-set crack numbers, positions, and angles were considered. The results show that the main cracks are all surface-opening cracks vertical-to-loading direction, and secondary cracks form on both sides of the main cracks and form a crack network. The inclination angle of the crack affects the crack initiation time, propagation angle, branch length, and branch number. For single-sided crack plates, 90° vertical crack plates, and 30° oblique cross-crack plates, due to the interaction between cracks, the cracks fuse and generate out-of-plane tearing cracks, and the plate shows obvious twisting and warping.
