A New Limonoid from the Fruits of Evodia rutaecarpa

  • A phytochemical investigation of limonoids and quinoline alkaloids from Evodia rutaecarpa (E.rutaecarpa) was carried out systematically. A total of 11 limonoids including a new compound 6α-acetoxyl-12α-hydroxyevodol 1 , together with three known methylbutyl quinoline alkaloids, were isolated from the unripe fruits of the title plant. The structure of 1 was determined on the basis of extensive spectroscopic analysis. Methylbutyl quinoline alkaloids were reported from E. rutaecarpa for the first time.
