Research Progress on Torsion Regularity of Building Structure Under Horizontal Earthquak

  • China is a country suffering more earthquakes. Under the action of horizontal earthquake, torsion has a significant effect on the irregular structure. In view of four famous major earthquakes, the adverse effects of torsion of irregular structures were analyzed. The research progress on structural regularity at home and abroad, and the academic collision among domestic experts and scholars on structural torsion regularity were summarized in detail. The theoretical basis and research progress of standard torsion index-displacement ratio and period ratio were reviewed and investigated. The logical defects between the conclusions based on structural dynamics and displacement ratio index and period ratio index were pointed out. Finally, the direction and suggestions for further research were put forward.
