New Progress on Phytochemistry and Pharmacology of Rosmarinus officinalis L.

  • Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis L.) a plant of the labiaceae plays an important role in medical care. Its essential oil is widely used in various fields. Higher edible and medicinal value makes it stand out in natural products. The main chemical components of Rosemary include phenolic acids, flavonoids and volatile substances. On this basis, the anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor, anti-oxidation, weight loss, hypoglycemic and other pharmacological functions of rosemary were summarized and evaluated, providing scientific basis for further exploration of its potential value.
