Aroma-health dual orientation: research progress on functional aroma new materials

Functional aroma new materials based on aroma compounds can be widely used in many beauty and health industries such as daily chemicals, food, textiles, etc., to promote the high-quality development of the national economy and meet people’s needs for a better life.The research progress in the preparation, identification, stabilization, and health effects of aroma compounds was reviewed, and a “aroma-health” dual orientation research paradigm of aroma compounds was proposed. Additionally, a preliminary exploration of the specific practice of this research paradigm was conducted based on the case study of the functional aroma new materials carried out by our research group. Finally, the key issues and important challenges in the future development of functional aroma materials were pointed out, and corresponding solutions were proposed.
